Companies of the Würth Group donate to humanitarian aid project

Within the framework of a worldwide sales campaign, Würth customers had the opportunity to purchase the special limited editions of a double-ratchet wrench set and a drill/screwdriver set. For each product sold of these special editions, the Würth Group donated two euros to UNICEF to help refugee children.

The so-called RW WORKOUT Week has been an integral part of the cooperation between internal and sales staff at the companies of the Würth Group for over 30 years. During this ride-along campaign, internal staff accompany sales representatives during their customer visits. Due to the worldwide spread of the coronavirus and the resulting restrictions, it was not possible for the internal and sales staff to visit customers together this year. The RW WORKOUT Week sales campaign around the special-edition products created on the occasion of the 85th birthday of Prof. Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group's Family Trusts, was implemented nevertheless, with the products being sold via digital sales channels and telesales.

Through these worldwide sales activities, the companies of the Würth Group collected EUR 250,000, which were donated to UNICEF. The money has already been used to support a humanitarian aid project for refugee children on the Turkish-Greek border, who urgently need water, food, shelter and medical care. There, numerous refugee families have to hold out under difficult conditions and are waiting to continue their journey to Europe.

"Because of the global pandemic, many things are different and often more difficult this year. The pandemic forces us to adapt and react flexibly to new circumstances. But social responsibility must not be a question of the economic situation. People, who need our help, need it right now. I am therefore all the more delighted that the commitment of our companies made this donation possible", said Bettina Würth, Chairwoman of the Advisory Board of the Würth Group.
